House update

The framers are back! YAY! These guys move fast! Here are a few pictures of the ceiling and walls going up. I think we are nearing the home stretch.. or at least thats what I'm told.

Ceiling/light fixture in master bathroom
Master bedroom ceiling
Central Vac hookup!
The gas line for the fireplace in the basement.
I call this our spider. We can control all the sinks, toilets and showers from here. So maybe if someone is taking too long of a shower I can come down, fine the line and turn off the hot water. HMMM.. this could get fun! :-)

After a lonnnnng day

After a long day at work all I wanted to do was cook dinner and enjoy a glass.....or bottle of wine with my hubby. Sam's been reffing almost every day this week so I thought he deserved something extra nice.
I made steak with onion & blue cheese sauce , new potatoes with roasted garlic and green beans. It was great!!

YUMMMM
Dogs KNOW when steak is being cooked!!

Happy Birthday Kiera

I can't believe how fast she's growing up! Happy 2nd Birthday Kiera!!!

Snow Bunny

After having a few weeks of semi-warm weather Sabetha got hit by another snow storm. The temps weren't too low so Toby had a blast playing outside in the white stuff. The only downfall having his long fur is the way snow seems to pack really tight around his legs. He never notices when it happens and I usually have to drag him inside to get cleaned up.
I really think he's a Lab living in a lap dogs body.

What a mess!!

Life is sweet with an electric mixer..

I finally used my new KitchenAid mixer and it was life-changing! Ok.. maybe not life-changing but pretty cool! My task was Banana Bread and it came out a success.. which I owe it all to the mixer. The recipe instructed me to whisk egg's and sugar for 10 minutes...which would have been a horrible task in the past but not anymore. Like the famous infomercial " Set and forget it".. I did. I returned to an amazing frosting-like consistency which was a key component to the recipe. After a long 45mins in the oven, I finally got to taste the reward of my not- so-hard labor.
(I forgot to take a picture but come one.. everyone knows what banana bread looks like)

Here is a picture of turkey meatballs I made for lunch! If you haven't visited http://thepioneerwoman.com/ I suggest you stop what you're doing now and check it out. Her website has a lot more then recipes but I just LOVE the way she combines cooking and photography. While cooking, I always get worried it doesn't look right but with her recipes she has step by step pictures to ensure its going good. I've made her queso before and it was a hit.

Dogs get the boot

After spending an hour vacuuming the carpet and couches I made the decision the dogs need to stay off the furniture. So far so good... I swear Riley is cursing me in her head.. just waiting for dad to get home and free her from mean mom. Hopefully they'll get the hang of it.
She's very happy close to the fire
Hopefully this works!!!

Here comes the fun stuff

We finally made some decisions...YAY! I've heard building a house is stressful on a marriage but we've had a great time. We don't agree on everything but its been fun walking through the house after work picturing where everything will go.
