Lately

I've really been bad about taking pictures and blogging but hopefully 2nd trimester will lift this fog soon!

We did get to see the little peanut on Thursday. It's amazing what can happen/grow/form in 10 weeks. We saw moving legs, arms and a beautiful little heartbeat. Heart rate was 175 and measuring just over an inch. Lucas sat with Sam and kept saying baby. Due date is May 19th.

The little stinker kept moving.. couldn't get a "normal" looking picture.  Arms and legs were everywhere.
Here are some phone pictures from the past weekend. Sam and I were spoiled and spent 24 hours away from Lucas. Doesn't seem like a lot but it was nice. We had a yummy adult dinner with friends, great conversation, good drinks (not for me), relaxing hotel stay and a little shopping.

1. Hanukkah gifts
2. Teller's for dinner...I ordered the pork chops. Way too much but good!
3. Best Friends
4. Midnight snack
5. & 6. Lounged in pj's enjoyed breakfast with some coffee.. mostly decaf.
BIG BIG thanks to grandma, grandpa and aunt Ash for helping with Lucas and especially to Aunt Michelle (Shelly.) She slept at our house with LW to make sure he was comfortable. She also sent this crazy mama pictures to keep my mind at ease. She will be a wonderful mom one of these days!

18 Months

Better late then never right?

Stats:
27 lbs (50th %)
35 in (90th %)
1 nap a day.. usually 2 hours long. Sleeping from 9pm-7am.. if we are lucky.

This month has been a big jump from toddler to little boy that wants to get his way. I knew it would happen at some point... I will fondly remember the days when he would follow all my commands with no question. Now...everything is questioned unless it's his idea. We no longer have a baby...we have a boy with his own mind and idea's. It has taught me how to compromise and not sweat the small stuff.

But that's what we want... our kids to push back.. ask why and challenge us. Right? Remind me of that if you see him at the park in pj's because he refuses to get dressed in the morning.

Talking up a storm and starting to count... 1-10 on most days...you always leave out 6.

You like to eat grapes straight from the frig.. all we do is open the door and you go to town. When done you close the door and go on playing.

After dinner you are just tall enough to put your plate in the sink. Lets be honest.. any trash goes in the sink.

Everything is the color blue.. we are working on it!

Football and baseball are your favorites right now. You yell "RUN" at the TV no matter who's playing.

Playing catch is special time with you and dad. Every night you two will throw the real baseball back and forward. It's probably the best part of the day.

Time out has been used a few times when you aren't very gentle or sweet to Halle.

What a fun little boy you are!! Everyday I see you growing up a little and getting ready to take on the world.

Update

Wow..it's been awhile. These past 5 weeks have been crazy with new opportunities, big surprises and of course lots of football.

Lets start with the big news:

Yep.. to our shock and surprise we are expecting again. Let me tell you we always knew Lucas wouldn't be an only child, g-d willing. Even when Lucas was a newborn we talked about his future siblings. I was just caught off guard and worried about my little guy. I felt he was still a baby and needed his mama 100%.   Of course it didn't take long to jump on the excited train...Sam was over the moon and how can I not be thrilled with him.
We enjoyed a week of wonderful baby name conversations, thinking about Lucas being a big brother, and having this little secret to ourselves.
Then it hit. ALL DAY SICKNESS! I know I'm not the only one to experience it and this might seem whiny to blog about but it was rough, and still is sometimes. Thanks goodness for Zofran, B6, Sam and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. I will be shocked if this isn't a girl giving me a hard time already! :-)

I'm also now working part-time doing data entry for a online company. Random right?? I knew it was a great idea to make some extra money while I stay home with Lucas. Hopefully a forever job :-)

And here are some random pictures from the past few days. Lucas is recovering from a virus and croup. He's whiny, clingy and just a mess so he's getting away with murder right now. He's perfected how to throw a fit... fun stuff for us! Tough love is around the corner.

Seriously...

Bubble fun

Lucas was beyond excited to feed the ducks at the park.
