Perks of warm weather

...and I'm not talking about Lucas! I was so excited the Strahm family let me take a few hospital shots of their new perfect little boy Hadden. Let me say I really have no idea what I'm doing! It's just so much fun capturing a brand new baby! They really are a miracle.

I really need to record lunch time in our house. Sam comes home.. we all eat..then the running starts. These two goof balls run from room to room.. yelling and scaring each other. Lucas giggles so hard he falls over! 

After all this fun it takes only minutes and Lucas is down for a nap. :-)

Warm Weather

It blows my mind this time last year I was sitting inside with a newborn watching the snow fall. Fast forward to this year we are running around in tank tops and shorts! It's wonderful! We were so productive both days and really soaked up the sun...maybe a little to much. I'm happy Lucas got sunscreen and a hat :-)

1 year stats

It's amazing a year has gone by! This time last year we were heading home with our 7lb 9 oz baby!  It's funny how time can fly but also seem like Lucas has always been here. I won't say I can't remember what it was like before him.. I can. But this past year has been filled with more joy, more emotion, more fun, and more LOVE then I ever could have imagined.

Walking everywhere!

Loves books. Sam asked him to grab a book so they could read. Lucas walked into his room, got his favorite book and carried it back out to sit on dad's lap to read. 

 

Signs "More", "All done" & "Eat" During meal time we never see him sign all done.. this boy can eat.

 

In the car today I handed him his cup...he pushed it away and said Nope. 

Everyday words: Mama, Dada, Riley, Dog, No-No, that, up, down, truck, "vrooom" (while playing with cars), 

"oooh oooh" for monkey & blows raspberries for elephant, ball and many other things we can't understand yet.

 

Lucas absolutely LOVES graham crackers. I need to buy stock in Honey Maid

Usually he has one nap a day and will sleep pretty good at night. We really enjoy book and cuddle time before bed.

I'm so excited for our summer together. Since Lucas is pretty active we decided to join the country club so I see lots of swimming, baseball and golf!

This guy has recently mastered sitting to standing with no help. Well almost mastered...

We were outside playing in the rocks when he decided to stand up. He was almost up when that large head of his took the balance and in slow motion he went forward.

I felt horrible but I guess it won't be his last bump and bruise.

Spring Weather

I think like everyone else...we've been outside all week soaking up the wonderful weather. If this is my preview of the summer.. I can't wait.

We played on the deck most of the afternoon.

Even though he had his own cup, mine just seemed better.

We were still outside when Sam got home from work. I am so happy I was able to capture how excited both Lucas and Sam get when they see each other.

They make me melt.

*We are having our first non-family babysitter Friday night. She is wonderful and I'm sure Lucas will have a blast...its me on the other hand that might need a little help out the door. My peace of mind is knowing grandma and papa are only a short walk away :)
