First Day of Preschool and everyday life

Lucas was a little nervous and didn't want to get dressed the morning of his first day. After some convincing and 2 planes in his backpack later...he was out the door.

He was so excited and waved mom and dad goodbye!

After a long 3 hours...for mama... I picked him up. First thing he told me: "A boy threw rocks on the playground but the teacher told him No No" I think he's been around mama and grandma too long.
Short story: During baseball season we feel like the playground police. Donna, Gina and I are constantly telling unsupervised children not to throw the rubber, climb on the wrong parts of the playhouse or be too rough around little ones. Just gets frustrating!

The second thing he asked was "When can I go back!" Warmed my heart he had so much fun.

Lucas and Halle are in the same class!

Random pictures of the boys!

 Loves riding his bike!

 Playing in the rain....and mud!

First day of school was very boring for this kid. I probably pulled him around for 30 mins.

On Friday Lucas and Sam had a lunch date. He got to "work" then go to Buzz cafe for a burger and cookie. He was thrilled. What a special memory for those two.

short stay-cation

Since school is around the corner and both Sam and I are going on trips in September, we thought a quick family vacation was best. And by quick I mean one night...a little over 24 hours. But we had the best time and got so much done!
{disclaimer: All pictures were taken with my iphone... didn't feel like hauling the big one. Got some great shots but most are blurry. Hard for little iphone to adjust to fast boys!}

This was our first Great Wolf Lodge experience and I was very impressed. The slides and pool depth was PERFECT for the boys.
VERY blurry but had to show off their favorite part of the hotel. RUNNING down the long hallways. Henry would giggle so hard he'd fall over.

We arrived and headed straight for the pool.

Gotta take a sucker break.

We ended up swimming for 4 hours straight minus the 20 mins we took to eat a snack. The boys had a blast!

We got cleaned up and headed to a T-Bones baseball game. The promotion was Kids Eat Free! Ummm.. baseball, beer and free food for kids. Yes please!

First cotton candy experience at 3 yrs old!

Not sure how other families do things but most time Sam and I divide and conquer. I hung out with Lucas by the swings, slides and blow-up jump things while Sam pushed Henry around in the stroller. It was a beautiful night and the kids had a blast!

We headed back to the hotel and  boys were out. Sam and I ended up grabbing Chili's to-go and eating in the hotel room.

Forget toys...just give Henry the "old" phone to play with . A few times we had to free him from the noose he tied around his neck.

This morning we swam for a bit then headed to the Legends for lunch and some shopping.

Five Guys fries are yummy!

Strawberry frozen yogurt with gummy bears

I asked Lucas what he thought of our little trip and this was his response.

Great time and great memories!

Sweet boy

I can't believe it's already August and older brother is headed to preschool. With this wonderful weather we've spent the past few weeks playing outside, swinging, sandbox digging, running around with cousins, fishing, and lots of picnics. Since baseball has ended we've really enjoyed a more structured routine and early bedtimes.

This little stinker is almost 15 months old and on-the-go 24/7! The minute he wakes up to his last snuggle before bed he is running. Most mornings he will grab his shoes before 8am and run to the garage door.

Communication is really taking off since his ear tubes. Henry can say Mama, Dada, all done (signs), thank you, love you, bye bye, down, up, eat (signs.)

Even though you challenge us everyday your spunky personality warms my heart. You have the best belly laughs, silliest noises, sweetest kisses, funniest dance moves and a sweet, gentle soul.

Can't believe next week this boy will start his first day of school. It wasn't until the parent orientation meeting that it hit...and this mama wanted to cry.

This video shows off Henry's awesome singing skills.
