We love dad

So little man was having a rough afternoon... We had fun all morning then he decided not to take a nap after lunch. Lucas is a sleepy baby... he doesn't miss a nap like he doesn't miss a meal. On average he is only awake for an hour to 90 minutes then goes down. He was awake for 4 hours this afternoon and completely worn out... I called Sam to see if he could just try to rock him before baseball practice. I'm not kidding you.. within 10 minutes of Sam walking in the door he had Lucas asleep and laying in his pack-n-play. I was shocked!

We love you daddy and so grateful for everything do you for us.

UPDATE:

Not even 10 minutes after I made the post, he woke up. And guess what I got?

A real smile caught on camera.

This made the whole afternoon of crying worth it.

One Month

Seriously.... a month has already gone by? Maybe it's just the "new mom" in me but I've been begging for time to slow down. I think I shed a tear when we moved from newborn to size 1 diapers!!

First month facts:

Lucas is a very happy baby.. he only gets upset when he's hungry or overtired. I think he got his dads personality. :-)

At 4 weeks he is 10 lbs 5 oz and 22 inches ( 75th percentile for weight and 25th for height)

He wakes up to nurse at 2 & 6am and goes right back down until 9ish. Most mornings we don't get out of bed until 10am.. oops :-) (I think this will change soon enough so I will take full advantage of the extra sleep)

Tummy time was a big flop until a few days ago...we would lay him down and within minutes he'd be fast asleep. Now he will look around and work on those neck muscles.

He enjoys staring outside or at light bulbs. Forgot those fancy Einstein toys, he rather sit by the windows and look up at the clouds.

Warm Weather

I just LOVE the start of summer... I'm sure by the middle of July I'll wish for winter but right now I welcome the heat. While Sam was at baseball practice ( I just love the sound of batting practice...it's the universal sign of warm weather) Lucas and I took a walk around town. He slept the whole time but I enjoyed the warm sun and time outside the house.

First ride in his big boy stroller

Passed out!

You'd think he walked for over an hour... such a tired boy!

New shoes from my boys!!!
