Trip to the Dells

After the long baseball season we decided to take a quick family vacation before football season started up. Yes.. we plan our life around Kstate football, basketball and Legion baseball.

On our way up to Wisconsin Dells we stopped in Iowa for a minor league baseball game. We had very high hopes of a great time watching baseball, enjoying the weather and hanging out together. By the time we found our seats Lucas needed a diaper change, Henry got hungry, it was hot, Lucas needed water, etc. You can sense my trend. We decided to ditch the seats and head up to the splash pad so Lucas could run. Within 20 seconds Lucas was accidentally pushed and splat he went.. complete meltdown. After lots of hugs he's back up and excited to run around. One lap around and splat again. This time two older boys were running around and completely decked him to the ground. It was an accident but this momma was MAD. I scooped him up and firmly yelled/told the kids to be more careful. At this point Lucas was done, Henry was hungry again and I was ready to pack up and go home. Luckily my level headed husband calmed me down and we headed to the car. We drove to the hotel and got lots of sleep for our drive the next morning.

Meeting some players

Lucas did awesome in the car. Between movies, ipad and books he was a happy camper.

We picked The Wilderness Resort and it was wonderful! They have EVERYTHING onsite with tons to do in and out of the water. We didn't leave the resort until it was time to head home.

Breakfast!

Maybe one day I'll get good pictures on vacation! Henry was held most of the time and with his short cat naps, I had small windows of time to grab the camera.

After dinner we decided to check out the go-carts. Lucas was pumped to drive a "race car."

You'd think swimming all day would be enough.

He was told to dip his feet in...clearly he heard me say head!

On our last day we decided to rented a cabana. Best decision ever! The park didn't have much shade so this helped the boys stay cool during swim breaks.

Phone break.

We had a great time and can't wait to bring the boys back when they are older. Vacations are a lot of work with two little ones but so rewarding. To watch Lucas light up over a water slide or his very own bed in the hotel, makes all of the work worth it.
