Bowl Trip

We were so lucky to join Stan and Donna to AZ for the Kstate Bowl game. With the winter weather on New Years Eve, we headed to KC the night before our flight. It was pretty fun to sit in our sweats and people watch in the lobby.
Bath in hotel is always more fun
Lucas enjoyed the planes but since he stayed up close to midnight and early wake up, by 8am he was already tired.

We were pretty lucky he slept a good hour on the way down.

We traveled with the Kstate Alumni so all transportation was taken care of. No car seats! Who knew I'd enjoy being told when and where to go. Lucas still talks about the bus rides... which is funny because he always passed out after 20 mins of riding.

They had this full size Dune Buggy in the lobby of the hotel.  Every time we walked by he had to sit and drive it. And I mean ever.single.time.

Taking a walk around the hotel

On our way to the pep rally. Snuggling with Grandma.

It was amazing to see how many Kstate fans traveled to support the team.
Eric Stonestreet was pretty funny

Bill Snyder following the players

After the pep rally we had a lunch on the field. Lucas spent close to 2 hours walking around, throwing the ball and playing on the infield at Chase Field.

Lucas slept in his own bed the whole time!

Game Day breakfast included the band and Willie.

Lucas wasn't a fan of the band but LOVED Willie. He would shout "See him, See him"

Whatever it takes to entertain a toddler.
I have to add Lucas was a great traveler but had trouble eating out of his comfort zone. We ate extremely well the entire trip and it blew my mind his refusal to eat ANYTHING.
Funny story: The morning after we arrived we had breakfast at the hotel. They had a delicious buffet of fresh fruit, oatmeal, french toast...you name it...they had it...and he refused EVERYTHING. Donna noticed a display of avocados and had Sam swipe one as a last try. It worked! He grossed everyone out by shoving almost the whole thing in his mouth.

Lets go Cats!

Who could ask for better weather! Everyone ended up with a slight sun burn from the pre-game party fun.

Game Time

Even though the game didn't end like we wanted, what a wonderful trip.

We got back to the hotel at 11pm after the game and had to be up and ready to leave by 5:30am the next morning. I thought Lucas would just melt down but he did awesome. I think the adults were struggling worse!

iPad was our friend the whole trip! Lucas played a lot but when we had moments of hurry up and wait. I don't expect a toddler to sit still for more then 20 mins so we had apps and Disney shows to help ease the time.

So thankful he passed out before we took off and slept until we landed.

What a great time!
